【Lansheng Technology News】Renesas Electronicsrecently announced the launch of a new RX product for high-end industrial sensor systems - RX23E-B, expanding its 32-bit microcontroller product line. The new product, a member of the popular RX product family, features a high-precision analog front end designed for systems requiring fast, accurate analog signal measurements.
This new MCU integrates a 24-bit Delta-Sigma A/D converter with a conversion speed of up to 125 kSPS, which is 8 times faster than the existing RX23E-A product. It handles precise A/D conversion while reducing rms noise to 1/3 compared to the RX23E-A. The RX23E-B can measure key parameters such as strain, temperature, pressure, flow rate, current and voltage more quickly and accurately, making it ideal for high-end sensor equipment, measuring instruments and test equipment.
In particular, the RX23E-B has sufficient performance to drive force-sensitive sensors used in industrial robots, which typically require measurements at speeds of 10 µsec. This product also integrates the AFE and MCU on a single chip, thereby reducing the overall size of the system and reducing the number of components.
Similar to the RX23E-A, the RX23E-B also integrates a CPU based on the 32MHz RXv2 core with digital signal processing instructions and floating point operation units, and uses the same manufacturing process to integrate the AFE into a single chip. It provides new peripheral functions such as a 16-bit D/A converter, which enables measurement adjustment, self-diagnosis and analog signal output. The product's +/-10V analog input enables +/-10V measurements using a 5V supply, requiring no external components or additional power supplies. In addition, it also includes an LCD controller that supports up to 40 SEG x 4 COM and a real-time clock function.
The RX23E-B is available in versions supporting A/D data conversion rates up to 125 kSPS and in versions supporting 31.25 kSPS. Both products bring flexible data rate settings from 3.8 SPS to the maximum supported, allowing users to choose the best balance between data rate and noise based on their specific system requirements. These two products support 5.5mm square 100-pin BGA package and 6mm square 40-pin QFN package, suitable for compact applications, and also provide wide-pin packages from 48-pin to 100-pin.
Renesashas developed a high-speed pressure control system by combining the new RX23E-B MCU designed for precise pressure measurement and control with intelligent power devices responsible for driving solenoid valves. The integrated high-precision AFE enables precise pressure control and minimizes the number of components in the design, thereby reducing BOM cost and circuit board mounting area.
