Intel CEO bluntly admits that Intel has made three major mistakes

【Lansheng Technology News】Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger recently bluntly stated in an interview that Intel made three major mistakes in its development process: failing to successfully enter the smartphone field and stopping developing graphics processors dedicated to artificial intelligence. , and failed to expand its production capacity.

Gelsinger said one of Intel's biggest mistakes was failing to stay in the smartphone market. Intel launched the Atom processor in 2008 for mobile device design, but it failed to compete with ARM chips.

Another serious failure was the cancellation of the Larrabee project in 2010. The project aims to develop a general-purpose graphics processor specifically developed for artificial intelligence applications.

The third mistake Kissinger mentioned had to do with the company's manufacturing strategy. Intel has some of the most advanced technology in chip production and has long specialized in serving its own needs. However, as Kissinger points out, this was an oversight because opening production facilities to third-party customers would generate additional profits and strengthen the company's market position.
