Element14 expands Toshiba's field effect tube product range to meet growing demand in the global market

Industry News 2023-11-17

【Lansheng Technology News】Element14, a global distributor of electronic components products and solutions owned by Avnet, announced the addition of more than 250 Toshiba products, including a series of new N-channel power field effect transistors (MOSFETs). The new series will cover high voltage products of 600V-650V and low voltage products of 30V-150V.

Ibtissame Krumm, senior supplier account manager at Farnell and element14, said: "The global power semiconductor market is expanding rapidly. Although the demand for power semiconductors in automotive applications has been a hot topic during this period, it masks the fact that That's a lot of other applications where demand is growing very rapidly, at least as fast as automotive applications."

He added: “Power FETs are driving demand growth in these applications, which, in addition to the more widely known automotive applications, include green energy applications such as solar inverters and heat pumps, industrial controls, power supplies, and rechargeable home appliances such as wireless gardening tools. .The performance of the power FET can directly affect the overall system performance of these application devices, and it is often a must-have for development engineers on all new projects."

When element14 customers develop new products, they need easier access to key components to design, test, evaluate, prototype and launch new concepts. Therefore, the cooperation between element14 and Toshiba, combined with Toshiba's new 300mm power semiconductor wafer manufacturing facility, will ensure that both companies can support the continued growth of customer demand for high-quality field effect transistors and many other semiconductor products.

Some of the new field effect tubes now available from element14 include:

● TPH3R10AQM power field effect transistor: Based on U-MOS-X process, this device can provide better on-resistance performance and safe operating area. This device is ideally suited for challenging applications such as switching power supplies in data centers, communications base stations and many industrial uses.

● DTMOSVI series: TK055U60Z1 power field effect transistor is the first product of the 600V DTMOSVI series. This series of products is based on Toshiba's latest generation process and adopts a super junction structure. It is widely considered to be the latest watershed in power field effect tubes. The RDS(on) of the new field effect transistor is only 55 milliohms, and its performance is 13% higher than similar devices in Toshiba's DTMOSIV-H series.

● TPH9R00CQ5 power field effect transistor: Based on the U-MOS X-H trench process, this new power field effect tube can be used for high-performance switching power supplies, such as switching power supplies for communication base stations and other industrial applications. Reverse recovery performance is very important in high-performance power solutions using synchronous rectification. The new TPH9R00CQ5 includes a high-speed body diode that reduces reverse recovery charge (Qrr) by approximately 74% (to a typical value of 34nC) compared to existing devices such as the TPH9R00CQH.

● XPQR3004PB power field effect transistor: This device utilizes advanced heat dissipation capabilities to support larger automotive currents. The 40V device uses a thermally enhanced L-TOGLTM package that can withstand higher currents and has lower on-resistance.
