Vishay launches SuperTan tantalum shell liquid tantalum capacitors with shock and vibration resistance reaching Class H standards for high reliability

Industry News 2023-11-06

【Lansheng Technology News】November 2, 2023 - Recently, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. announced the launch of a new series of liquid tantalum capacitors sealed with glass-metal sealing strips-STH. STH electrolytic capacitors are suitable for aviation and aerospace applications. They have all the advantages of Vishay's SuperTan® extensive series of devices. At the same time, they adopt a high-reliability design, and their impact resistance reaches H level for high-reliability applications. They also have better vibration resistance and thermal resistance. The impact capacity is up to 300 times.

The device performance recently released by Vishay meets the SuperTan® series H-level standards for high-reliability applications, providing low-cost devices for high-reliability liquid tantalum capacitors while ensuring the high reliability required for harsh applications. STH series capacitors are suitable for energy storage applications, including power supplies, actuators, transponders, radios, oil drilling and underwater equipment, and other high-reliability applications.

Devices in D-type packages are available in capacities from 470 µF to 1500 µF, with standard tolerances of ±20 % at 120 Hz and +25 °C, and products with ±10 % tolerances are also available. The operating temperature of the STH series devices is - 55 °C to + 85 °C, with derating up to + 125 °C. ESR as low as 0.50 Ω at 120 Hz and +25 °C. Capacitors are available with standard tin/lead (Pb) termination and RoHS compliant 100% pure tin termination.
